Vintage Microsoft Internet Keyboard Pro (retail SKU C17-00001, keyboard model RT9420, part X04-86289) in its original box. New and unused, circa 1999.
A unique piece of Microsoft hardware history. The inner carton is hand-marked "Mock-Up Sample." The keyboard, software, and manual appear identical to the standard retail release. The differences found are:- The handwritten "Mock-Up Sample" note on the carton- A box label printed with placeholder order fields (PO XXXXX / LINE X / WO XXX-0003)- A box label serial number (…704247) that differs from the keyboard's serial number (…704245)
This was purchased from a local sale near Microsoft's Redmond campus, and the seller told me he was a Microsoft hardware engineer who worked on this product as well as others.
