I built this clip out of my necessity to position the webcam around the monitor. I want the right angle where it fits well. It works under the monitor, on the side of the monitor and of course on top of the monitor.Even though most webcams come with a resting foot, most of them create a notch at the top and they don't let you adjust much in terms of the angle. Besides, with a multiple monitor setup and maybe other accessories like a monitor lightbar, the webcam gets pushed further up which creates an unnatural angle.
Most important thing to consider in terms of compatibility: the back side of the monitor, where you plan on attaching the clip, needs to be 90 degrees. If it's curved or angled, it will fall. It does support some curved monitors as well, especially at the bottom where the cables go. It just needs a flat surface behind the monitor.
What to use it for?* Streaming: properly set a desired angle.* Teaching: showing your desk by turning the webcam 90 degrees down* Content creating: reviewing products, unboxing. Helps with setting the right angle without having to use a tripod or gooseneck which takes up space* Bottom mount: when your monitor is taller, or higher or you have two stacked up monitors - attach it at the bottom.* In between two horizontal monitors: when you want it at the eye level between two monitors.
