Back from the future?
Externally, the M15x is one of the most unique and daring notebooks on the market. Futuristic design and lighting wherever the eye can see, the M15x immediately catches attention. Even under the hood, Alienware makes little compromises and says it offers...the most powerful 15-inch gaming laptop Alienware has ever created." The Alienware M15x made a very good impression. In terms of design, materials, stability and workmanship, the M15x is arguably unrivaled at the moment. In addition, the varied lighting, which can be adapted down to the smallest detail, is an absolute eye-catcher. The good input devices and above-average sound are also impressive.

Case
The housing of the 378 x 309 x 49 mm (width x depth x height) Alienware M15x seems to come directly from the future: the unusual lines and the hard curves and edges are strongly reminiscent of sinful supercars such as the Lamborghini Gallardo or Reventon. The design is certainly daring and extremely taste dependent, we liked it very much. The materials used look very high quality. So the display lid and even the notebook underside are made of thick magnesium. This gives the case unprecedented stability. No matter where you apply pressure, the housing does not yield a millimeter and no image disturbances can be provoked on the display with the best will. Fortunately, as the M15x relies mainly on matte surfaces, barely visible dirt and fingerprints accumulate. The extensive lighting of the M15x is an absolute visual highlight. From the Alien heads on the display lid and under the hinges, to the Alienware lettering above the hinges, to the touchscreen bar, to the keyboard, touchpad and speaker grilles on the front, almost every area of the case comes with lighting. However, you are not limited to one color, because with the help of the intuitive and easy-to-use software Alien FX (part of the so-called "Command Center"), the colors can be easily adapted to your own needs. Anything is possible between a wild mix of colors and a monochrome appearance, because the colors of the mentioned areas can also be adjusted independently.

Features
Alienware did a good job on connectivity. On the left side, next to a Kensington lock, there is the power input and a VGA output.
