For sale is a gently used Amazon Kindle K2 - Kindle 2nd generation. NOTE that this kindle is no longer supported by Amazon and can not be registered to an Amazon account and can not download books from Amazon. It is only for side-loading DRM-free books. If you don't know what DRM is, this might not be the right kindle for you.
The kindle is in great condition. There are some minor scratches on the screen but they aren't noticeable while reading. There are some scuffs on the front (of the white plastic) but you can't really see them unless you tilt it to the light. The metal back plate has some scuffs. There's a decal on the back. I like how it feels under my fingers, and it ensures I'm sending the right kindle to the right person, but it'll come off cleanly, no problem, if you don't like it. It hasn't been on long, and it's vinyl, no paper.
The battery is not new (I didn't replace it) but it holds a surprisingly decent charge.Of course, to extend battery life, it should stay in airplane mode because this kindle doesn't have wi-fi, it just used cell service, and the version of cell signal it used is discontinued.There are several DRM-free books on the kindle including the Wizard of Oz Omnibus, which I helped produce. It's all 14 Oz books, with all the original illustrations. There are also 2 games - Every Word and Shuffled Row. I highly recommend backing up the content of the kindle, especially the games (which have one file each in the documents folder but I also think important files are in the Active Content folder) to your computer for safe keeping, in case you ever need to reset the kindle.
The K2 uses micro USB to charge and connect to a computer, and I'm including a little adapter that you can put on any USB-C cord to convert it to micro-USB to charge the kindle and transfer books. If you really need a cord, too, let me know and I can probably include one.
