Listing Description
Vintage Apple Macintosh SE, tested to boot and run as shown in the listing photographs. This machine has 4MB RAM installed and habeen upgraded to theQuantum 40MB internal SCSI hard drive. It is currently running System 6.0.5 / Finder 6.1.5; the installed system and memory display are shown in the photos.
The Macintosh SE is a classic 68000-based compact Mac with a 9-inch monochrome display, internal SCSI storage support, ADB keyboard/mouse connections, and four 30-pin SIMM memory slots. Four megabytes is the model’s standard maximum RAM configuration.
Condition and testing
- Powers on, boots, and operates as pictured.
- Quantum 40MB hard drive spins up and boots, but may occasionally require a restart before it is recognized. This is an intermittent vintage-drive behavior; the cause has not been diagnosed, and long-term reliability is not guaranteed.
- For occasional demonstration, light vintage software use, or display, it is presently usable as shown. Buyers intending regular use should plan on replacing the original hard drive with a modern SCSI-compatible solution or solid-state storage alternative.
- Keyboard and mouse were working during testing. As with any vintage ADB accessories, future refurbishment or service may be needed.
- Case is in good overall vintage condition with typical age-related yellowing.
- Original labels/property tags remain in place.
- Logic board, power area, drive, connectors, and case details are extensively photographed.
- Battery has been removed/disconnected to prevent future battery-leak damage. The remaining battery-contact area is visible in the photographs.
- Logic board appears clean, with no visible corrosion, damaged components, or obvious capacitor leakage. This is a visual observation only; no component-level electrical service or recap has been performed.
- Power supply and video-board areas appear clean in the supplied photos, with no obvious heat damage observed.
